Huey Lewis & The News Live Tokyo 1989

Huey Lewis & The News Live Tokyo 1989

This was a show broadcasted on BBC on December 31st/January 1st 1989/90. This concert was a new years celebration live from the Tokyo Dome. For the last few minutes of the show, Huey is joined by Michael Monroe, Bryan Adams, and Don Henley, all of which opened for HLN.
This video was taped of TV by a friend of mine. However, it was only recorded up to the song “The Boys Are Back In Town”. Therefore, all credit to the song “If This Is It” goes to MrTomasmoreno. This video shows about 2/3 of the actual concert. I got the countdown and “Shake Rattle & Roll” off an old hard drive of mine.
This is a great show! Although it is incomplete, it still rocks! A great preview of some “Hard At Play” songs, more than a year before the release of that album in 1991.

  1. Ted u r an idiot. Huey puts on a great show. Rock on Huey hope ur hearing gets better. Good luck.

  2. So, the NYE 1990 lineup in Tokyo was Don Henley, Bryan Adams and Huey Lewis & the News? Wow! Sign me up.

  3. Two months ago someone posted the full video in HD with the full setlist but YouTube deleted it. Such a shame, great concert!

  4. I've got no problem saying I LOVED many of Huey Lewis & the News hits but while watching this I was struck by how BORING the show was! Great songs performed perfectly LIVE but HL&N was not what you would call a "show" band!
